Vacancy in the 113th District

Whereas a vacancy exists in the office of Representative of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the 113th Legislative District a Special Election has been called for November 2nd, 2021 for the remainder of the term expiring November 30th 2022.

The 113th District includes part of Lackawanna County consisting of the City of Scranton (Wards 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19 [PART, Divisions 03 and 04], 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24) and the Township of South Abington and the Borough of Clarks Green.

A candidate for this position must be 21 years of age, shall have been citizens and inhabitants of the State four years, and inhabitants of their respective district one year next before their election (unless absent on the public business of the United States or of this State), and shall reside in their respective district during their terms of service.

The 113th Legislative District Committee of the Republican Party of Lackawanna County is actively seeking candidates interested in running for the office of Representative. The 113th Legislative District Committee will interview candidates and make a recommendation to the Executive Committee which will ultimately fill the vacancy and may also seek to interview candidates.
